13 Gifts For Travelers

Traveling is all I ever want to be doing. To have a constant stream of flights and itineraries to keep up with is my dream. Alas, the holiday season is upon us and while I’m one to advocate for donating to charitable causes over buying crap for folks, I guess doing both is OK too. But even better is finding fun travel-related gifts that give back!

Here are my non-crappy picks for those who adore wandering the globe as much as I do:

1. Bordahan Makeup Bag, $25: The team of women who make these products work for the dream of bringing themselves and their families out of the circle of poverty through the art of embroidery. Help to empower the native women of the Philippines by purchasing these great products!

2. Adopt a Coral Reef, $50: Okay… so a traveler might want to actually GO to the Coral Reef…but I’d be happy just knowing I own a piece of it!

3. Tentree Kirtipur Hat, $35: Hats are a must for some travel destinations (see: Iceland). Included with every tentree product is a metal token containing a one-of-a-kind tree code. Register your tree code to see where your ten trees are planted and discover your impact.

4. FEED Kenya Bag, $250: Pricey! BUT…Purchasing this bag provides 370 school meals for children in Kenya!

5. Spencer Backpack by STATE, $165: For each Spencer sold, the company hand-delivers a STATE bag packed with essential tools for success to an American child in need.

6. Naari Throw Blanket, $372: Pricey! BUT…Every purchase of an Anchal product provides an artisan with a full-time job, health care benefits, design training, and educational workshops. Also, this blanket is beautiful. And plane rides can get annoyingly chilly.

7. Shinola ML 20 Passport Wallet, $95: The proceeds from the Shinola TODAYS ORIGINALS collection will go to the Detroit Children’s Fund (DCF) to benefit the Detroit Edison Public School Academy.

8. Conscious Step Socks, $44.95 for 3 pairs: Every traveler needs some comfy socks!

9. National Park Explorer Map, $55: I want to buy this map and immediately begin booking trips to national parks to mark them ALL off! (BONUS GIFT: Buy the person an annual National Park Pass to go along with the map!)

10. The Elephant Pants Fleece Lined Pants, $34Fleece-lined pants that also benefit elephants? Win-win. Cute and cozy for any plane, train or car trip.

11. Sudden Coffee, $32: Travelers need fuel and this is the perfect stocking stuffer! Stir with hot (or cold!) water for fresh coffee in seconds!

12. LifeStraw Go Water Bottles, $50: These water bottles make contaminated water safe to drink. Plus, every LifeStraw product sold provides a child in a developing country with access to clean, safe drinking water!

13. Ultimate Travel Coloring Book, $15: This wouldn’t be a complete list without a coloring book because… y’all know me

Spread kindness and cheer, xo

Jackie

    1. Thanks, Wes! Good question — I use pixaby.com for most of my header images, so I’m not really sure where exactly this one was taken! Does indeed look interesting (and cold!).
