Playa de los Muertos

I have never seen water this clear in my life.

This is Playa de los Muertos.

Playa de los Muertos quite literally means the Beach of the Dead.

Perhaps it holds that name because visitors think they’ve died and gone to heaven . . .

BUT LOOK! . . . A sign of life!

Maybe it was given that name because of the trek to get to the actual beach . . .

. . . I only fell once 😂

Seriously, the beach is GORGEOUS and worth it but it’s a downhill trek so make sure you’re wearing solid shoes as it’s a bit rocky. (I was not prepared.) The beach itself is all pebbles as well, so keep that in mind if you plan on visiting!

I still can’t get over how clear the water was. #MediterraneanLife

So, where does the name Playa de los Muertos really come from?

Apparently, its name comes from the many sailors who perished in the seas and washed up here.  At least it’s a beautiful place to die . . .  👻

Spread kindness and cheer y’all, xo
